How much does the Unit S2 training cost?

Your team can complete NRSWA’s Unit S2 for as little as £150 upfront - or you can choose to spread the cost over 12 or 24 months.

How long does the Unit S2 accreditation last?

The accreditation lasts for five years and needs to be renewed after that. This applies to all NRSWA courses.

Do attendees have to complete all of the NRSWA units?

Not at all. While it’s beneficial for supervisors to complete all NRSWA units, it’s not compulsory. You can pick and choose the courses that best fit your team’s responsibilities.

Do you offer any other NRSWA courses for supervisors?

Absolutely! We’re a trusted provider for all NRSWA courses and offer the following supervisor units:

  • S1: Monitoring signing, lighting and guarding
  • S3: Monitoring reinstatement and compaction of backfill materials
  • S4: Monitoring reinstatement of sub-base and base in non-bituminous materials
  • S5: Monitoring reinstatement in bituminous materials
  • S7: Monitoring reinstatement of modular surfaces, concrete footways

Should my employees complete supervisor and operative training?

That’s up to you! While many supervisors have completed NRSWA’s operative courses, it’s not always necessary.

Operative units are useful if you need supervisors to take on different roles on different jobs.

Just remember that an engineer can’t supervise themselves, so you’ll always need separate supervisors and operatives on site regardless of their NRSWA qualifications.

How will attendees be assessed?

They’ll be assessed on both their theoretical knowledge and practical application of the skills they’ve learned. This includes a practical assessment and a written test.

How long does the course take?

This Streetworks course only takes one day to complete, so you don’t have to worry about your workers being away from work for too long.

What do attendees need to bring?

Make sure they bring:

  • A valid form of ID, like a passport or driving licence
  • PPE for the practical assessments, including high vis vests or jackets, safety boots, a hard hat, safety gloves, and safety glasses
